Alta Vista Duplicate Bridge Club
A POSTING ERROR ON BOARD #30 HAS BEEN CORRECTED.
The Alta Vista Duplicate Bridge Club was founded by Robert McGillivray in 1966. Robert's military career dictated a move away from Ottawa and in 1967 Allan Chapman took over. Al remained the director, with Ken Brown as club manager, until 1997. During Al's tenure, the Club developed a reputation for friendliness and encouragement to new bridge players. In 1997 Garry Cooligan, a member of the Club since 1966, became its new director when Al Chapman moved to Perth. Recently, with Ken retiring from bridge and Garry taking a less active role in the club, Del Holmes has become the club manager and director and Teresa Fortin has taken over the bookkeeping.
